I traded my 2018 ram 2500 with a hemi 6.4 in for a new 2019 ram 1500 generation 5 CC with the hemi 5.7. The reason why for the trade is my truck is my daily driver and my 2500 drank a lot of gas as everyone knows. After owning my new 2019 1500 CC for approximately a month it has been a great truck. I live in Rocky Mount North Carolina and around town gas mileage has average between 15 to 16 miles per gallon. I am in the middle of a trip to New York state and back home. Here is my gas mileage, Hand calculated. From Rocky Mount to Breezywood Pennsylvania 21.2 miles per gallon. From Breezywood Pennsylvania to Fredonia New York 19.1 miles to the gallon which I did not think was bad because of the mountains in southern Pennsylvania. From Fredonia New York to Albany New York 23.3 miles per gallon. This is using regular gas. My truck is a tradesman and I have a payload of 1790 pounds according to the door sticker I love you extra room that the backseat has compared to my 2500 in my old 2015 ram 1500 crew cab.I will have to post a picture of my truck after I get it washed. But it is a white truck with the black painted bumpers and grill. Also a big plus, my wife likes this truck compared to my 2500

That is good to know. The only thing I did not like about the trip in southern Pennsylvania was on I 70/76, the toll road. It was $20.64 for 134 miles of travel. LOL.

hee Hee, welcome to PA, Schuylkill Expressway, ie., 70/76. lmao. Try from there into NJ on friggin turnpikes and the Walt Whitman, but alas, it is what it is. I have family in the general Charlotte area, and last year went from TX, to NC, to NJ, to DE, to NC, to TX. hand calc on MY 19, 21.7 mpg overall, lil over 4000 miles, so U R spot on ref mileage. I did however stay with 89 Octane unless 87 was only available. (Non-E Torque Hemi),,, allegedly, the E-Torques supposed to do a lil better... allegedly.

Are you now in a 4x4? My dealer has a 2020 base tradesman 1500 4x4 I really am considering for 2 main reasons: the increased mpg and the room in the rear seat including the flat floor under ther rear seat for my tool bags.

On my return trip my mileage was: From Albany NY to Maryland: 18.9 mpg with a strong headwind and the hills on the Thruway. From Maryland to Rocky Mount NC. 21.1 mpg. Very impressed.

No, I did not get the 4x4 I needed the payload and I only used the 4x4 maybe 2 times in both of my 2500s that I had.

I have a 2019 Laramie with eTorque 5.7, 3:21 gears. In the flatlands of Louisiana I get 25 mpg on highway. 19 in town. In the mountains of TN and GA it dropped to 18.5 on highway. I am satisfied. I find the start up tapping of the engine annoying. Other than that it has been pure love.

you bought a truck, why are you worried about gas mileage?

Really? A junior member is going there with a senior member who clearly understands the purpose of this forum?

The first thing you should understand about this forum is the purpose is to learn and share experiences. Just because we all purchased trucks doesn’t mean we don’t give a damned about fuel mileage, tire wear, optimal oil change intervals or issues others may be having with their trucks. The man asked a genuine question, others provided input but your response adds zero value to the discussion. Like Mama said, if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

Those of us who bought a truck because we need one for work often would like optimal gas mileage. The less we spend on fuel the more we make in profits.
Just because we need to have a truck doesn't mean we don't care about pocketing extra money. I'd rather spend my money on my kids than support some gas company.

View attachment 189845 ...got your fuel economy right here on a nice wintery freeway drive!

THAT is dang good mileage for a 6.4, on a highway, 4wd......But of course, if U got a truck, mpg is fine but U know. I can eek out almost 22 mpg on highway with cruise, but I have a 5.7 (NON-Etorque), but works for me

Yep, nice looking Ram and it makes it even better when the better half likes the truck too. Mine hated my 2500’s I’ve owned as she hated the ride...and the 2019 1500 models ride super soft as she says “like a Cadillac sedan”.
