I need engine as mine is shot. Any good ideas on a trustworthy source I should look at buying from. This is new territory for me and I don't want to get screwed over.

If you're going to buy a remanufactured engine, which I suggest, most manufacturers have a warranty for the engine you purchase. Do a google search and read reviews. Probably your best bet to start there. Best of luck to you and I hope you find a good deal!

Agree^^^When you go to the internet, you will find a couple reman companies that offer stunning warranty's on long blocks. They ship all over the US and the reviews look good. Another option is the local salvage companies. You can often find low mile engines from vehicles that have been totaled. I would also compare what I find to the cost of having your local repair shop, rebuild rebuild your engine. Knowing what your option costs are should help you select the right choice for your vehicle.

If your engine can't be rebuilt locally, then shopping for a refreshed engine can be a bit nerve wracking.

Check out Jasper, PowerTrainDirect, Jegs sells ATK reman'd engines & RockAuto has long blocks. Those would all be good, reputable, sources that offer a warranty. I think most of them also offer core charge refunds on most blocks returned to them.

Sorry not helping with your situation but was wondering since its 2005 how easily a Hemi could be swapped into it. Anyone know if its an easy swap if you used a 2005 Hemi into it?

I'd rather have the hemi but the more I read on it the more I get confused. Some say you have to change all this stuff and others say its plug and play. I don't know what to believe. Right now I just need my trucking running so its easier to just go back with what I had I guess.

Hemi is NOT plug and play for your truck lol. Will it physically bolt in? Yes, of course. That's the easy part.
