Relatively new to exhausts and mufflers.

Hi everyone, I have a 2013 Ram Tradesman with the 5.7. It is a single exit exhaust. I have been looking at Borla mufflers for the last few days. I am aware that the the muffler for the tradesman has a 3" inlet and a 3" outlet. I have narrowed my decision to 2 mufflers. One is the XR-1 with the same inlet and outlet and the other is the PRO XS muffler. Will these mufflers work and fit correctly on the tradesman? Thanks. :)

If you're getting a muffler shop to do it then they can make almost anything work. If you're looking to do it yourself it should be easy if its a clamp on muffler. I'm not sure how the singles are though.

I suggest you get which ever muffler you like best as long as it is a 3 inch Inlet and 3inch outlet. You will need to get another peice of exhaust tubeing because the factory muffler will be longer than your aftermarket one. You can pick them up at Oreillys or most likely any auto parts store. When you order your muffler order 3 clamps like the ones in the pic they work great.

So I need a piece of exhaust tubing? How do I know what to get? I also plan on getting the muffler installed at a muffler shop.

The muffler shop should carry either pipe or those. It would be extremely odd if they didn't

Yes, trim packages doesn't have anything to do with the exhaust

They will be custom jobs.

If you want a direct bolt on muffler swap. Look into Mufflex... They you magnaflow mufflers.

All you'll need to do is get a piece of stainless steel to go between the muffler and the mid pipe. The stock muffler is pretty long. It's nbd to use an extension pipe though!

I am stuck between two Borla mufflers. I am struggling between the PRO XS or the XR-1. This is for a single exit exhaust also. Which do y'all recommend?

This is correct if you want loud get the xr1 and the pro xs is just a preforated muffler save your money and get a mbrp or a jones if you are going that way.(still get a stainless one though)
