So I got some Amber led running lights just like the Ford raptor...I tested them to the battery directly and grounded. Just for a test...my main goal was to ground it with an existing ground and splice the power wire into my Amber running lights from my headlights ...did that all and got no power ? I spliced into red wire from the headlight....should I just go directly to the battery ? Will that drain it at all or no....need quick ideas please. Thx ! Btw they worked when I tested it through the battery.

If they are LED Amber lights your adding, you can probably wire them in parallel with the factory running lights. Practically all the lights on the truck are monitored by the vehicle CANbus, tapping into the system lights with too much current or altering the current path can cause undesirable results.
You may need to use a relay and wire them directly off the battery.

You'll want to have a fuse and a switch. Wiring directly to the battery without a switch, they will be on 24/7

Wait could I just splice into my power wire to my headlights low beam ? To gain power for the small led ? And then just ground it ?

Yes you could, then they'll be on whenever your headlights are on. When do you want the amber LED's to be on?

When I'm driving really when I unlock my truck my headlights turn on so I guess they will turn on also that's fine with me. And I guess my turn dile for my lights can shut them off

Then yes, you should be able to just splice the wire for the low beam. LED's require very little current and SHOULDN'T cause any issues. In your first attempt how did you determine the red wire was the correct wire for + 12 volts?
