So I bought a 2015 1500 sport from Canada and live in the USA. It had tow mirrors which I quickly swapped out for 2011 sport mirrors. Problem is now I get check engine light and can't clear it. Will changing the in door modules work or will anything work. Please help I can't use my remote start. Thanks in advance..

You'll probably have better luck asking over in the 4th gen section (this is 5th gen (2019-up)). I know it has definitely been discussed/done by people with 4th gens but I'm not sure if anyone has done it with a 5th gen yet.

Your getting a check engine light because you installed the wrong year mirrors. The 13 to 18 trucks have the outside temp sensor in the drivers side mirror. The 09 to 12 trucks have it mounted in a different location. Your truck is looking for the outside temp and it's not there so its throwing a check engine light. I am assuming your outside temp is showing -40 which us the default. You must run the correct mirrors for a 13 or newer.

Rick has nailed it. The PCM uses the external temperature reading as part of how to run the engine and transmission, without it you get errors and, in extreme temps (either direction), a poorly running truck.
