need help

I have a 05 1500 4x4 slt i installed a spectre cold air intake and now i hear a tick at lower speeds when the truck is under load before it downshifts. once it down shifts the sound goes away. ive installed intakes before and never have heard this before. ive had the oil changed a month ago so its not low truck only has 50k on it too. any help would be awesome. tnx

Have you messed with any of the exhaust lately? Tic's are usually either exhaust leaks, or something in the engine.

i had a spin tech cat back installed several months before the intake was installed

Maybe the air intake isnt bolted down correctly and its hitting the hood?
If it were an exhaust leak wouldnt you hear it at idle also?
Do you hear the tick at any rpm?
Maybe put it in nutural and rev it up to the rpm that you hear it most.

yeah i checked all that it only makes the tick when im driving, like when it is in a higher gear going up hill before it downshifts. when i step on the gas it goes away
