There is a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie that has my attention, but I'm trying to assess how much I can list my RAM for before I pull the trigger.

2013 1500 Express with the following:

4" Mopar lift with 35" tires on Black Rhino Wheels
Bushwacker fender flares (not painted)
Amp Research retractable steps
All 4 proximity door handles painted to match
Push button/Remote start
Edelbrock E-Force supercharger with tune
Katzkin Leather seats
Laramie door panels
Added steering wheel radio controls

Truck has just under 93k miles on it. I have a Dirt King long travel kit ready to install, but want to make this decision before I get to work on either truck. Please help!

Start with KBB.com and determine a Private Party Sale price for your area. Use the selections on the site to add or delete OEM equipment and options on your truck plus you will input mileage and general condition information. That will give you the base asking price for the truck with OEM equipment, year, mileage and condition.

Then add up the value of all the mods when new. Add that to the base price.

From there you have a price that you can negotiate from. You won't get full value for the mods and I wouldn't be surprised if you end up reducing the price of the mods when new to half that value. Also I would expect you will end up coming down on the KBB base price of your truck.

Good luck.

Unfortunately unless it is a private sale, you are going to be hindered by your mods rather than rewarded. You need to find someone who wants a truck like yours with all the mods and doesnt mind rolling the dice on the quality of them or the work. Not saying its not top notch, but any modification to a vehicle can push away potential buyers if they are scared something may break. A lot of guys take anything mod related off the truck they can and try to make the vehicle as stock as possible before trading in, since dealerships dont want modded vehicles or give more for a trade because of them. Good luck!

That’s gonna be a tough sell. Supercharged. You’re gonna take a pretty serious hit on your mods but we all do. That said I wouldn’t even consider it if I was buying the supercharger turns me off. Not that I don't like em...but I’d do it myself. Paperwork and receipts could be your best friend when trying to sell. Start where you feel is good and you’ll prolly have to drop price till you get hits and then decided if it’s worth it or not. Keep us posted to how it turns out

Sounds like a sweet setup. If there's nothing wrong with the truck I'd keep it. You won't get a return for the mods, unless you find a die hard gotta have it guy.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I took all my info/receipts to the dealer that has the Laramie and they gave me about 60% value of my upgrades on top of the the truck value. I feel good with it based on feedback about superchargers and the 6 speed.

I'm the new proud owner of a 2017 RAM 1500 Laramie with every option but a sunroof.

I agree! That might be the first time I've heard of anyone getting anything like that for mods. Congrats on your new truck OP!

It's insane how much different it is.

I can only imagine, pretty impressive mod list you had on the trade. I felt a huge difference just going from a rcsb to a ccsb, can't image going supercharged back to n/a.

I'm planning on going right back to it with the Whipple. The 8-speed should handle it better. Also still have some BBK shorty headers and the Dirt King long travel kit that never made it on the last one.
