hey, i have a question. at first when I started the truck after the install of the cam and everything, it kinda had valve tap. so i retightened the rockers a little more careful this time and than started it up and she ran fine for bout 15 seconds and than went super loppy on me and than died. and now the only way she will start and run is if i put my foot on the gas. we replaced two sensors because he was getting like a p0108 or something like that. do the rams use an eletric throttlebody? and we just have to perform certaiin steps or do you have any clue? its deff not timing. no kinda back fires. just cant get her to idle

What cam did you install? It may just require some driving to allow the adaptives to learn new settings or it may need a tuner to get it right. Mostly depends if the cam is PCM friendly or not.

What are you using for a tuner? You wont get that 268 to hold idle without tuning.

You are going to need a custom tune for that 268...Even a canned tune from Superchips or Diablo wont hold a steady idle with that cam. Contact Sean at Hemifevertuning.com. He is also a vendor here, so you can shoot him a PM as well. He can get you setup with a custom tune.

Just saw that you have the Predator. Just contact Sean, and he can set you up with a custom tune to make the truck run correctly.

Hemifever does everything through email, so he should be able to get you setup pretty quickly. Its also much cheaper than having a local shop throw it on the dyno. I don't know of any good local Hemi tuners. I know a few guys who have tried, but none of them were able to get the numbers that Hemifever has.

hey silly question. what are some signs of me putting a push rod into an oil passage instead of on the lifter??

the 268 can either be a breeze to tune or a pita. Sean did the first tunes on mine and had it running alright after a few revisions. After I had it on a dyno & tuned it ran so much better. as said before the 268 WILL NOT run on a canned tune or no tune at all. You can do some damage that way. Did you just do the cam swap or did you do the springs and push rods as well.

^Ryan hit the nail on the head. Make sure you swapped the springs and rods, tune is a MUST. Your fuel maps are all over the place along with your spark table and injector duty cycles your gonna hurt it. Make sure you have a A/F wideband also to give info to the tuner. DO NOT GO WOT until you have a base tune and the wideband working together.

*Edit
Saw you asking about a rod slipping. Did you cycle the motor over a few times with the covers off to inspect all of the rods were propperly seated.
