the numbers will be cast into the side of the block that tell you what size big block it is.

converting it to 4x4 can be a lot of work the frame rail themselves are usually the same. pretty much all the cross members from the transmission forward are different. i am not saying the conversion can't be done but usually it takes a lot of work to get it done. you pretty much need a parts truck which would be another expense and more work

Thanks crazywolfie. It might be 4x4 I'm not sure yet I'm going to look at it again this week.

well usually it is pretty obvious when you look under the front whether it is 4x4 or 2wd

Well the weeds were tall so I can't get under it. But I did get a second look at it and it is 2wd. I also found out it has a 400 engine. And when I went back to talk price she told me she had two other trucks in back. One is nothing but scrap metal but the other had another 400 in it and a good cab so aside from the 4wd I've got all the parts I should need.
