Got my shock off, it's 30.05" fully extended from mounts OC, which means I have the 5 inch spring in the back. Brings me to a question, the current shock I run from BDS has the following specs...

BDS-Fox 2.0 #98224759 extended - 30.05" compressed - 18.45" travel - 11.60"

Can I run either of these directly from fox as replacements? I assume the longer one is ok?

Fox 2.0 #985-24-020 extended - 29.55" compressed - 18.45" travel - 11.10"
Fox 2.0 #985-24-024 extended - 31.75" compressed - 19.65" travel -12.10"

I'd imagine BDS has custom lengths for a reason, but then again, I'd imagine those longer shocks will still work. Maybe the longer ones won't quite be in the sweet spot?

I'm finding some sweet deals on 2.0s with reservoir and 2.5s as well that are tempting and have the similar or same specs as the 2nd pair of fox I lifted.

It also looks like the zone 98450759 have the exact same specs as the BDS 2.0s for the 6 inch lift. Anybody know if there's a difference besides the BDS name on the shock? The zone ones are quite a bit cheaper, more than half the price. May just go with those.
The 2 inch longer shock may be enough to drop a coil when flexed out, not sure.

BDS uses the Performance shocks I think and Zone uses the Adventure shocks, the Adventure is an inferior shock.

Maybe the Fox 985-24-026? They're a little longer than the ones you have now but shorter than the longer ones you're looking at.

Also, is there anything I should keep in mind during install? Top off grease fittings with weight on the truck? Torque anything specific to spec with weight on the truck?
Any rubber bushings should be torqued at ride height, so uca at least.

I didn't think about dropping a coil. I'm not sure on the 985-24-026. Looks like those are 2.0 with piggyback resevoirs. Not sure if those are necessary or would make much of a difference. If so, I wouldn't mind spending the little bit more. Interested to hear what others think.

Thank you for the info on the zone shocks. I figured they were exactly the same. Both made by fox tonthe same specs and they even have similar descriptions. If it's inferior, I'll pass. Found a deal for $90 a pop that I almost couldn't pass up lol.

By ride height, does that mean full weight on the tires?
Basically yes, for the UCAs I use a jack below the lower arm to compress it up to ride height and then torque the upper bolts.

Core 4x4 front UCA and BDS fox 2.0 rear shocks ordered. Wanted to yet the parts in the door so I can swap everything out next week. I'd still be interested if anyone e has anyone knowledge as to the longer rear shocks working out. I can't imagine they wouldn't. If I wanted the 2.5s in rear with dsc 883-26-026 (31.59") or 883-26-024 (29.39") would be the only option. Looks like 024 should be the appropriate choice for 3 to 4 inch lift.

I thought these came preloaded to add 2 inches of ride height. Is there really still that much space at the top?20230118_151104.jpg

They also look different. Mine had blue and gold knobs with Silver logos. Those have gray and orange knobs with orange logos
Yeah, I was expecting the blue and silver

Ahh. That’s why. You ordered the 4” longer version. Not the stock length leveling version. Mine are 883-06-080 which are stock for leveling. Hence why yours are different.

You've got me worried I ordered the wrong thing now lol. So I should be able to throw these in and take out the spacer to get 2 inches of lift, right? I have the 5 inch rear coils in rear, so that should make me just about level with the rear, right? Got me sweatin

You’d probably need to adjust it. I’m not sure. They may only be at the 4” setting but you won’t know till you install them. Or contact who you bought them from to see if they know.

So these lift 4" to 6" over stock? I only need to come up to inches. I figured it meant these were for lifts 4" to 6". BDS told me I needed these ones. I'd like to keep my adjustability between my current height and +2"

If I need to send these back and get the
883-06-080 , not a big deal, just need to know before 30 days and before I've got my hands fukk trying to install them lol

These replace the spacer. They are adjustable from 4” to 6” but you have to install them in the truck to find out what the preset height is. It may only be set to 4” and you may need to add preload to go higher. Mine came at 0 lift and I added preload to go higher. Took me three times to get it just right

Ok, sweet. Sounds like I'm good. I probably need to contact fox and see what the preload specs are. These DSC knobs are crazy hard to adjust right out of the box. I worked them a bit and gotten them broken loose. Glad I checked that before they were on the truck lol.
