SO I have a 2009Ram 1500 with stock touch screen head unit.

I am wanting to Install a Back Up camera and was hopping you guys could help me out.

I found this Kit -
https://www.infotainment.com/produc...-handle-backup-camera-kit?variant=33621370119

It dose exactly what I want but it seems expensive?

Is there a way to get the same result and not spend $500?

Thanks in advance! Hope u guys can help me out. I did a search but I did not stumble upon the info I need. I am sure this has bin addressed somewhere. A link to a Post would be GREAT.

Thanks, Arkangel77

FYI you also have to get the computer flashed on your truck at the dealer! SO depending on your dealer 50/150$ more ! I would call your dealer and get a price on the OEM kit and install. Had mine installed and flashed at the dealer on my 2015 for about $525.00 . You Tube has tons of videos on installing ! Use the search box above I believe there are several threads on it !

Rich- I used the search here before I posted.
I found the Infotainment Kit from watching you tube video's.
The Infotainment Kit comes with a Flasher.
I guess when you take the computer flash into consideration that Kit is a little mope appealing.

Just looking for a less expensive option that uses the stock touch screen unit - if that's even possible

For the flashing I assume you have the OBD ap ? I would also search more as I have found some prices vary on the same item a lot ! Like you I did not want to spend 1k$ on a camera !as some dealers charge, I was lucky with mine plus I did not want to install myself ! Keep a eye on this thread as the techies should chime in who know a million times more then I do lol

I too, am looking at that same kit. Without the programmer, its 300 bucks, and than add the programmer, for $130......and you save $50. Who doesn't like saving 50 bucks?? Anyway, before I order this 2 item parcel...camera, and programmer, has anyone found any short-cuts during install. I am qualified to do the task, and always speak to the higher power of experience......Thanks...Capt. B. Bart

The dealerships in the Detroit Metro area will install an OEM camera set-up, flash it, and the lines will be included.........for 1 thousand dollars. I saw Rich mentioned $525......wish I lived there, but that was 5 years ago.

I am buying the kit for 300, and disposable programmer for 130, and doing the install myself. My Golden Retriever will be fetching the zip-ties.........
