Hey guys im a new member here. Have two rams. 2004 Ram SRT-10 and a 2006 Night runner. Night runner is blacked out and the srt-10 is stock with some bolt ons. (both are for sale) but I want to get a new truck brand new off the lot probably from the factory due to what I want. I want to get a black regular cab 3500 dually biggest diesel available. I want to completely black this new truck out. Wheels lights windows everything.

What do you guys think of driving a dually daily and everywhere i go? Reasonable does anyone do it?

Welcome

You'll just have to watch out driving more because of the wider rear end.

Welcome, and I agree. If you don't need a dually don't get one. Pita driving around town

I agree dont get a dually just because you like it or you want one. I just bought a 1500 QC and I put $90 in gas a week. A dually isnt going to be any cheaper or any use for just driving around the city. I also wouldnt get diesel either if you arent doing any type of towing/hauling. If you are just driving it around the city then your just ruining the truck.

What ruins a diesel driving it? Not trying to be a smart a** but I have a diesel car that runs fine around the city. What's the difference?

I agree. It does look like a beast. I have nothing against diesels I just dont like driving them around the city. All that stopping and going. I live in Guam where the speed limit is only 35 in some areas and 25 in most and it takes a toll on my truck. Putting $90 a week in it for gas just sucks. I would love to have a turbo diesel. I drove a Fire Chiefs vehicle that had turbo diesel and I was 90 MPH and barely had the pedal pressed.

I drive a 3500 daily, but not a dually, and I love it. Mileage in stop and go traffic sucks (around 13mpg), but mileage on a nice open road is pretty decent (averaging 20-21mpg). If that's what you want to drive and you have the means to do it, then why dream?

I've owned some pretty cool vehicles over my lifetime (lotus esprit turbo, corvette, humvee) and one could ask, did I need them? Not really but every one of them put a nice smile on my face. I call it the smiles per gallon factor :) Right now my Ram 3500 longhorn puts a smile on my face. I just want to drive it and take the truck places.

If you end up buying a dually and you don't like it after a couple of years, then trade it in for something else. A ram 3500 dually is still going to be worth more at trade in than a 1500.
