New No Crank No Star issue

1998 5.9 Turbo Diesel 12 valve, Turning the ignition key to ON does NOT engage the shut off solenoid, Turning the key to start, NOTHING happens. The starter is fine. The vehicle will start if I open the hood and with the key in the on position, I reach in and manually pull the fuel cut off solenoid into the up position. Then if take the 12v line to the battery and directly touch it to the positive terminal on the battery, the engine starts perfectly. If I shut the engine off it takes the above procedure to restart the engine.

Any Ideas?

when you say ignition module? what exactly is that?

The part that attaches to the key tumbler so when you turn the key it sends power to tell the start to engage and disabled the kill switch. Not 100% on the term for these year trucks

Hey bud, did you solve this issue? When swapping the 12v into my truck this is something I had to figure out.
