I just baught a 2001 1500 reg cab 5.2L
Everything has been well taken care of on the truck (except paint on the roof)
Looking for any suggestions on basic upgrades like Air intake, Exhaust/Muffler and if a Electric fan would be a good investment?

Air intake is useless on these trucks. Exhaust is merely a sound preference and an electric fan would give you a slight HP bump and would make your A/C work better.

If it's taken care of and not beat on, you could expect upwards of 482000km out of it.
The body will fall apart before the engine dies if you keep the engine up to snuff.

I would get an exhaust of somesort. I would recommend a flowmaster 40 series or super 44 muffler. It is my favorite upgrade to my truck without a doubt. Its somewhat cheap if you do it yourself but if not it could cost more. I had a shop do mine and it cost around 380 bucks with the pipes and tips included. So, if I were you I would go that route. Its a fairly cheap upgrade and it will make your truck sound and look more badass easily.

if you want a flowmaster 40 but dont want to spend the cash for it, look at this here.

94 01 Dodge RAM 1500 2500 Dual Exhaust Mandrel Bent | eBay

another member on this board, and myself have both installed this exhaust and have been pleased with the results.

it was personally a little too loud for me, so i instaleld a hushpower II resonator in front of the muffer, other than that, you would never know it's not actually a flowmaster system.
