I have a 06 quad cab ram with just the basic factory stereo.I'm not using the factory speakers and wires as I have all new stuff. My ???? is do I have to use a system modulator to hook up to the new stereo or can I hard wire the new system.I unplugged the factory wire harness and I still have dash lights and so on.I don't have radio controls on the steering wheel so I don't need to worry about that. Now my biggest concern was if I unplug the wire harness will this affect the air bag system some way or not to worry?

Welcome to the site.

So you are replacing the head unit, speakers...and speaker wires? Correct?

Really don't need to upgrade the wires so much.

When you plugged in the new wiring harness from your new head unit...you are getting dash lights? Not following 110% there.

And shouldn't affect the air bag at all.

if you are running all new wires to the speakers you do not need the factory harness and it will not affect the airbags in anyway
