ha ha....Yes Sir that is for sure! Had a few fast cars in the late 60,s and 70,s but this thing is so smooth and fast being the most fun of all I had so far!! I think a supercharger would be really fun while escaping the insurance of a hellcat!

The only V8 I have ever owned is my 87 Camaro with the 305. Everything else has been a V6 or I4. Most powerful one was the Camaro with is the 175 hp and 250ftlbs. My daily driver befor the Ram was a Saturn SL2. So when I test drove my 3.6 I was pleasantly surprised by the power it had. Only towing I might do is a small trailer with scrap metal, so it serves my needs perfectly. I'm sure the Hemi would be more fun, but I can't complain with 23 MPG

Nice looking truck and the reports from all on the 6 cylinder are all very good!

I just traded my 17 Tacoma 3.5 auto v6 for a 18 Tradesman and I can stand flat footed and tell anyone the the 5.7 in the quad cab 4x4 Tradesman get the same mpg In a much more comfortable truck . In town or highway , same 20-22 mpg . I do live in rural area so not a lot of idle time at lights as I found picking up grand daughter from school that idle time cuts deep into mpg average . Been in Toyota trucks since 84 , I love this Tradesman Ram , best trade I ever made . Towing about anything with the 17 Tacoma was just too much for it seemed to me . I aint no fast kid but this Ram will run a hole in the wind if you want it to . LOL .

I have researched this quite a bit and found that the hemi gets almost the same mpg as the pentastar-maybe 1 or s less-some people say the same mpg.-as for gas, I have always used 89 octane-you spend a lot of money on a truck,an extra 5 bucks on a fill-up you might as well use what RAM says is recommended rather than what is just acceptable.-6years old now and she purrs like a kitten and growls like a tiger when I open her up!!! Best truck I have ever owned and I have had chevs and fords-No imports,they don't appeal to me anyway. Enjoy your HEMI--You've already made the purchase anyway, so just enjoy it and don't look back bro!!!

I like the stop idle on the 19 so far! The mpg stays the same after coming off open highway going into small burgs and stopping quite a bit. Was not sure I would like the e torque .

My wife has a '12 avenger rt... The pentastar 3.6 engine in it is phenomenal... Over 120k miles and runs as good as new .. with that being said I would never think about put that engine into a full-sized truck. With a normal cruising speed of about 70 mph for about a hundred miles I average 20-22mpg on the dash... She'll get 26 on the avenger... I can't see a ram getting much more than 23 with that 6 and no way could it move it like the 8 could

I have a 2014 Laramie Limited and don't tow often, but when I do it's our 28 foot 7,000 pound travel trailer. Probably 6-8 times a year, mostly within 100 miles of home. This truck has the 8 speed and 3.21 gear ratio (that so many people bash, but I love it). I'm getting 21.2 mpg average (32 gallon tank). That is driving in rural Tennessee and using cruise control when I can. This truck is a Crew Cab with the 6.4 foot bed and 4x4. When I need the power, it's there. It pulls our trailer very well and the 8 speed transmission is awesome.

You SHOULD be asking yourself about the comparison between the 5.7 and the 6.4 Hemi! After all, bigger is ALWAYS better! Once you go to a V8 you'll never go back to anything less cylinder-wise!
Plus, this way, you'll never worry about MPG again! My 6.4 averages about 14-16mpg if I baby it. But I didn't buy my truck for the mpg! You did great with the 5.7!

I had an ED with the 3.0 Turbo Charged Diesel. Awesome lil motor and truck. If I was still towing a lot I would still have it. But the maintenance was a PITA and expensive. Yes you give up MPG on a Hemi, but the motor been around a long time with reliable numbers and rep. I got almost 22 mpg going over 4,000 miles through hills, valleys and flat road. Guess depends what U need. The Hemi will do whatever is needed and when, but when/if U tow, that is the big hit. Get whatever pleases you, run the chit outta of it BUT always keep up the maintenance, IMHO.....

Unfortuantely, eco mode doesn't mean you're in 4 cylinder mode. All the eco mode means is that you are running very near to the best MPG as possible in your current situation. However, I have been told that for the 4 cylinders to shut off (MDS to activate), eco mode must be active.

I've driven 6 and 8, now that I'm helping my father-in-law with test drives (he is looking for a V6 Ram). The 6 would work for me just fine, for what I do, but I love the V8 too much. To each their own.

Not to be a jerk, but the "ECO light means MDS is active" is a common misconception, repeated over multiple forums. I believe that that may be what Chrysler intended in Hemi vehicles that have MDS, as the "ECO" mode light, or "fuel saver display" as I believe it is called in the manual, and the MDS system supposedly have similar parameters that they look for from the computer. Other than calling MDS "fuel saver technology" and the ECO light "fuel saver display", the manual never states one is actually a signal for the other. Maybe its what FCA wants you to assume, but they never actually come out and state it.

And even they did state it directly, it wouldn't matter. They are not directly connected.

If you read enough posts on forums, you'll find some guys that have gone so far as to rig up a light to the MDS system, and the ECO light will be on sometimes when MDS is not. And some tuners can shut off MDS completely, but the ECO light will still function.

As a disclaimer, we do not point out your mistake, slacadjuster, to try to ridicule you or anyone else. We are just trying to educate. Hope you don't take it the wrong way.

Not sure about all that, but I know in my truck, one can hear the difference when in ECO mode.....LOL, definitely doesn't sound like a V8.
