Nice camera Jeremy! DSLRs definitely aren't cheap. Bought my wife a Canon Rebel XSi for Christmas year before last with an extra lens, that was an expensive gift!

yeah, they definitely are NOT cheap - but man, I absolutely LOVE the pics I get from them! Hard part is learning how to use them.

mine did at times.....

This one, on "Auto+" it actually selects the right "scene" based on what you are shooting. I took a pic of my Dr Pepper bottle last night (5 inches away) and it switched to macro. I moved the camera and focused on the kid, it swapped to portrait. ****!

Also, this one has a smile detector. So, it fires the shutter when it sees a smile. Now thats damn cool.

My new Canon point and shoot I bought a couple weeks ago does some of that as well. Pretty cool stuff! You can even do the black and white pics and leave a single color in the pic, like my blue eyes. It's pretty dang impressive for a point and shoot. It's amazing what they are doing with cameras these days.

i am going to buy the wife a p&s soon. She hates using my camera, and I hate her using it too. I am not sure what my budget will be on that one, and what is bad is that I my mentality of budget is jacked up.

Used to be - "I have to work X hours for that"
Now its - "I have to do X retros for that", or "I have to sell X cases of wax for that"

fukken headlights, just making me spend more money! LOL

And.......that is why I use Fedex! UPS (I believe) is 2 days to you (LAME), and USPS is 2-3 (REALLY LAME). Fedex even delivers on Saturday for free (Fedex Home that is).
