do the 6" rcx and set bilsteins at 1.4" and it will sit level pretty much..I would put them at 2.1" or 2.8" and add a 1.5" rear coil spacer. That setup will clear 37s. (Would look even better with the 1.25" body lift on though) I'd go with a wider wheel and offset though
Jake nailed it.
I set mine to 2.1 and required a 1" rear coil spacer and I have a 0.5" rake.
1.5" coil spacer will give you approx 1" of rake.
How do I explain this to the guy at the shop who will be doing the install? Does everything in the RCX 6" suspension lift kit need to be installed and then replace the front shocks with the Bilstein adjustable shocks?
I don't understand the 1.5" real coil spacer comment. It was my understanding that all I would need was the 6" RCX lift kit and 37's would fit without any rubbing as long as the backspace on the wheels was 5.5".
Please advise.
Replied to your PM regarding this.
Short answer of what I sent you is, the Bilstein will replace your factory shock. The clip on the Bilsteins is what sets your height of them.
Pretty straight forward.
Some shops still lack the knowledge of Bilsteins.
Mine, did and I had to slap them silly and they did what I said, and not they are carrying Bilsteins and promoting it.
The 6" RCX kit will eliminate only 1" of your rake. You need to know your rake prior to lift to know what to set your bilsteins at.
If you have a 2.75" rake (which seems to be the avg. here). Bilsteins set to 1.4 will give you a slight rake of 0.3" which to the naked eye, looks damn leveled.
People like Jake, myself and others get rear coil spacers (that go above your rear coils) to raise the rear to take full advantage of the Bilsteins and to get a lift higher than 6".
But going higher than 1.4" on the Bilstein will give you a nose high/squat/cali lean that many don't like.
This is where the rear coil spacer comes into play
Hope this helps and is clear.
