Forgive me, I am definitely a newbie when it comes to this.

I have taken a couple of days going over the forum and have learn a fair bit in regards to pos and neg offset and leveling.

I have a stock 1500 crew SLT 4x4 with 20" rim package.

My final goal:
Lightly modified Ram (no lift). Leveled with Bilstein Struts. Pocket style fender flares and rims and tires that look good with them. *The red truck is similar to my goal. However I may not upgrade to the sport look. The black truck is mine

Question:
I need new tires soon and can't afford the rims yet. To bring the tires out from the fender slightly (inch or less) I am assuming this can't be done with tire sizing. Would a wider tire help? What size should I go with that would fit on a stock truck? I was thinking of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO 2.
LT275/60R20 is the stock size.

It would be great if I could keep the Stock 20" rims and plastidip them. I am just not sure I want to offset them with spacers to get the negitive offset for the fender flares.

What do you guys think?

you can fit a 285 no problem. I believe that you have a 8" wide rim which helps also. It seems like there were guys putting a 295 on that rim with no rubbing.

If you do level with the Bilsteins, do a 285/65/20 all terrain tire. Just under 35", yet fill up wheelwells perfect IMHO.

If you have the Express 20's in the black truck pic, you can plastidip, or get the gloss black caps that go over those wheels for around $100 on Ebay. They pop on and come in chrome, gloss black or even matte black.
I did on my Express wheels, they looked just like the blackout edition wheels.
