Hey guys i just signed up and was looking around at pics of lifted trucks. My truck info and mods are in my sig. I put the leveling kit on it the first month i owned it and im starting to want it bigger. I wanted to get a 4'' lift for my truck but most of you guys sound dissapointed with it and want to go too a 6''. What do you guys think who lifted their trucks? If i went with a 4'' could i obtain more lift with certain shocks? and does anyone have a Rough Country suspension lift? Sorry for all the questions im new too this and want too lift right!!

BDS is another company you may look into, should be a truck (Bighorn) that will post about it, he should be able to help.

Welcome. I took wanted a 4" but after talking with enough people including the guys at my dealer, I was recommended a 6". I was told there really wouldn't be much of a height difference if you go with a 4" vs. your current level. There isn't much of a price difference between a 4" and 6" but a 6" will leave you open for more lift and bigger tires in the future.

As far as adjustable shocks - there are the Bilsteins 5100s. There are 4 different height settings (max 2.8"). Some use these to gain more lift and to level the truck of it doesn't sit level after a lift.

As far as brands, everyone will tell you something different as far as the best or worst. I'm going with Pro Comp on mine and having it installed at the dealer.

my leveling kit is by Rough Country, 2.5''/.75''. On certain ground the truck appears to still have a tiny bit of rake in the back. I think im pretty much sold on a 6'' based on what everyone is telling me. It just sucks buying the tires big enough to go with the lift lol. I have a new set of rims that will be on the truck Friday, i cant wait to post pics up!

Welcome to RF bro!!

Wermbang knew I was going to chime in haha. I love talking about lifts for trucks :).

My truck was lifted pretty much when I bought it.My truck has a 6" BDS lift with Bilstein 5100's set to max 2.8". So I have a 9"+ lift with the tires I have.I went with 37x12.50x20.

To tell you the truth if I would have went with a 4" "which never crossed my mined" I woud not have been happy. When I went to Chuxtrux to order my lift i was looking for a 10" lift off the bat. Well they only made a 6" and I was very dissapointed. Well I got the 5" rear kit and then I leveled her out and now it stands like a 10" lift would. I am very happy with my truck the way it turned out. I can add a 3" body to it lif i want and get about a 13" lift total but then my family would need a step ladder to get in it haha. They almost do now. I have pics of my truck in the lifted section if you havn't looked at it yet. Just to get an idea what yours would look like with the settup I have. I hope this helps.

Trust me what ever lift you get 4",6"10" you always want bigger lol.

Your truck looks sick!! did you change the gears in it at all?

id probably change mine when i get a lift and tires since i dont the the hemi. i have Nitto Terra Grappler 295/70/17's coming from the stock 255/50's and i can tell the truck is a tiny slower and lost about 1 mpg fuel economy

This very true. If you don't have the money for what you want. Save it and get what you want or you will regret it later down the road. Thats why I went with the biggest lift that was made for my truck.

Um ... 3" body next ... then you will be bigger :********:

^what these guys are saying is so true. I started off with a level and it's ok but I want more. Was going to go the 4" route but thankfully several talked me about of that and into a 6" which if goes according to plan will be on later this week.

I'm already tired of my 35s (with not quite 5k miles on them) and wish I had waited for 37s. Word of advice, do it all at the same time so that you don't regret anything.
