Newest rear bumper that will fit 3rd gen?

Wondering what the newest rear bumper that I can fit on my 04 1500 is?

07-08?

Newer ones look pretty close but I've read that one wraps around the box side and one doesn't?

2008. 2009 (4th gen) they tuck in much closer to the body and are not a bolt on (require modification)

Or are we talking about a level of modification that makes it unrealistic?

the bumper on the 4th gen has the wings (as i call them) that wrap around the body, some people will bend those out so they clear the bed and ive seen others just cut them off, the choice is yours but if im not mistaken, it bolts right up

i like that statement haha

once upon a time i thought an 8" notch in my frame was unrealistic, but then i got me a plasma cutter and a welder and didnt look back!

Thanks guys, that gives me a clear idea of what I would be up against.

My biggest concern was whether it bolted up properly without having to mod all or some of the brackets. (tailgate height ect)

Knowing it bolts right up and only the "wings" need addressing clarifies things nicely
