I have absolutely loved my Nitto Trail Grapplers. Went from a normal "highway l/t tire" to these, as I liked the look. Sure, there was a bit of extra road noise, but not bad. The extra grip was amazing.

I've had them for about 8000 miles now, and it seems that they are starting to get noticeably louder on the same highways. Wondering if any of you have encountered the same issue?

I had a similar experience with my Toyos, was very noticeable at highway speeds. I thought it was just in my head. When I went back to the tire shop for rotation, explained to them the increased road noise.

They rebalanced all of them and it made a big difference. The shop did the rebalancing for free. Even if yours wants to charge you, it’s pretty cheap to give it a shot and see if it helps.

Normal for most MT’s. Try running the Mud Grapplers and you’ll hear some “noise”. Sounds like a Cessna when their new, only gets louder.

*buys Mud terrain tire, complains of noise on asphalt :33:

Enjoy your monthly balance and rotations to make them tolerable

Funny listening to people posting about their first set of MT’s or RT’s ... Lol ... If you NEED them, that’s one thing, but if you’re gettin em cuz they look badass, there are plenty of AT options that have nice aggressive sidewalls, but ride better, quieter, and handle better ... Mine are Toyo ATll Extreme ... 50k and I’ll get another Summer out of them

I’ve got about 15k on my Nitto Ridge Grapples and I haven’t noticed a increase in road noise.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas.

My duratracs do that too. I’m not sure if the compound gets harder or softer or it’s little damage to treads that leaves the tire with imperfections. Not audible when city driving but at highway speeds it’s spinning a lot faster.

Just my crazy theory. I guess I could google it but that leads down some weird rabbit holes

That just means that you’ve got to turn the radio up louder.

I’ve got about 35k on my ridge grapplers, and they are a bit louder than when I first bought them.

You need to rotate them sooner. My General Grabber X3s start to get loud around 6-7k and aftrr you rotate them they are alot better, just the nature of the beast.

Had a set of BFG K02s on my old F-150, and they never got any louder.

I had the KO2’s on before the Nittos I’ve got now and I didn’t notice them getting louder either. I wore those down so low that I was wearing down the wear bars.

The KO2 set in the RAM is my 5th official set of KO2's ever and in my case they do get louder with miles typically past 35-40k miles. First time running the 37x12.5x17 size so we'll see how they do in my application (6200lbs without me in it). So far i have just a tiny bit more than 10k miles and they're still quiet as day one.
