So, my 96 1500 5.2 just done a water pump replacement on it last night.
Got home from work retopped off the coolant in the radiator, and the overflow.
No sign of leaks, so I started it up. It hasn't been ran in couple weeks, but it started right up with out hesitation. Ran for about ten minutes idling at about 1100 rpms. No signs of leaks, no noises, literally ran great. Then it stalled. No it just cranks and won't start at all. Seems like no spark, no gas no nothin.. What do I look for and all that was done was just the water pump.

I bet it has absolutely nothing to do with the new water pump. 1st pull a plug wire and check for spark, then check at the fuel rail to see if there is any there.

Well, when I posted this I waited about hour and half or so. Went back out double checked everything after reading through bunch of posts. So in agravating I tried to start again, this time it fired right up again. Then I let it run for a couple minutes, gave it a lil gas and it stayed running. So I let it run, for about ten more minutes. Shut it off, waited couple minutes fired back up again it started right up, ran smooth, rpms running at idle about 900 which is it's norm. But it stayed running. Went out looked under the front make sure again no leaks. But when I got back in the cab I noticed that the temp was just about redlined well about an 1/8 from the redline so I shut it down. At this point my radiator was still cold, both upper and lower radiator hoses were cold. So I loosened the rad cap, of course pressure and fluid spayed. So, I'm still at a loss of why it wouldn't run before. Again, the truck has sat for at least a couple weeks prior. But other than the tranny issue it has never done that.
Could air in the coolant really cause that.
