No tow mirrors available

So supposed to go look at a 2018 2500 6.4 Hemi for my son later tonight. It does not have tow mirrors and is at a used car lot so not like the dealer can swap them. But anyway, called 2 local dealers today and they both said the factory tow mirrors were not available. The one read a note that said maybe sometime in November. The 2nd dealer said they might be able to have them by mid-August. The 'accessory kit' was $490. That was for everything needed. He said if you bought everything individually, which he can do today, it would be closer to $1000. There were a few dealers within about 500 miles that had sets in stock but the closest was several hours away.

These would be for my son if he buys this truck this week but I would like a set too. I did look up the 1A auto mirrors and he might go that route but that is up to him. It looks like they are $525 through them. I have heard good things about them but it looks like the puddle lights are a little different than OEM.

Just found it odd that they aren't available from the dealers at this time. Are the 2018's different than the 2017?

Somebody’s smoking crack. Tow mirrors are available. You can get them used on fb or Craigslist, eBay,amazon and just about any parts dealer. Sounds like the dealer just doesn’t wanna mess with it. Not their sale they could care less. It’s so easy just about every 1500 owner these days install them lol

I have installed them on my 2007. Very easy. But 2 different dealers said the same thing. The one said a dealer in Syracuse has a set, one in Kernersville, NC, one in Michigan, one in Ohio, and I think that was it. They said there were about 173 sets back ordered. They said they could get single mirrors but to order them that was would be about $1000 for everything where the set is about $500.

I went and looked at a 2018 with the 6.4 tonight for him. They have a 2500 Laramie (but it has the 5.7) and it has the chrome tow mirrors. They said they might be able to swap them for him.

I have found aftermarket on eBay and online sellers but no idea of the quality or some don't have the right options in them. They need the power fold, heated, puddle lights, turn signals, and memory.

Yeah, 1A has those mirrors for $525. Same brand. He might be able to get them to swap the chrome ones off the Laramie they have there but I will still be looking for a set. No hurry for me though. My boat sits high enough that I can see around it but I'd still like to have the tow mirrors just in case I tow something else. I'd prefer OEM but if not I'll probably go with the Trail Ridge from 1A

I have a 2016 Laramie Longhorn with towing mirrors. I hate the double mirrors. If anyone is close to Wichita Kansas that would be interested in an exchange I would certainly consider it. My mirrors have the puddle lights so I would want the same.

Don't see them on their site for my truck. Saw up to 2015 but it said they were sold out
