Hey Folks been a good month since I been on. Was re-thinking my Truck mods and decided to change things up to make it more "drivable" this winter as I will be using my Truck alot more from now on due to Family reasons.

Being an 03 and Tuning options a bit complicated I decided to pull the Crazy Spartan and put back in the 6.1 as it never gave me any heart ache.

Changes made are as Follows.

Crazy Spartan-Out......6.1 AC-In:Good or Bad:
SC3865 91 tune-Out.......87 Tune-In (edit: Works Good / Now Testing 91 Tune- so far so Good)
AEM CAI-Out........Hemi-Hat w/ K&N Drop-in-In
Pro-Sport UD Damper-Out..........New 5.7 Damper......In
Iridium 3865 2 x Colder-Out........OEM Copper........In

I'm about 40 Minutes away from start-up with this set-up but ran out of day-light. These changes should still alow for some good power and the Crazy Spartan will be better suited for my Dodge Magnum R/T.

Sorry No Pics. Maybe Tommorrow. There are about another 5 changes done or TBD in the works in the next 2 weeks before it gets really cold (mostly appearance) and that will be it for 2011.

Danny

Sounds like a good idea Danny. I havent done a cam change in the LX platform yet so wonder how easy the front clip comes off to access the motor.

Thanks Dave! Kenneth, The Cam swap is complete and all I can say is she's running pretty sweet and my Truck is where I want it to be....Daily Driver...HWY sleeper....get it on! As for the Magnum I've had the clip completely off twice now (prolly 10-15 minutes tops) so access to the front of the motor should be good once the Fiberglass rad support bar item is removed I'll be good to go. As for header install that is gonna be a knuckle breaker.

Working on these Hemi's is the best when you can stand up in front of the mill as it is easy to reach over and access all the coils, covers and valve items that are right there rather than being spralled out accross the motor. And at 5.7 I can stand on the sway bar too!

Crazy spartan install onto the Magnum will be my 4th swap and will need custom Tuning for sure based on how it ran in the Truck so I think I may go the Diablo route this time.

So this weekend I hope to finish my thread from April Titled...B&M Shifter installed! and I need an updated Sig!

Are you going to get Stu to do the files for it through DSP?

Kristen, Changing Cams is not that Bad of a Job if you make a Good Plan. This was my third swap in the Truck by myself so my Spl Crank Tools are well paid for. If you go with the AC Cam think about headers and Gears, too. In a SC Truck you would prolly come in at high fives easy on Zero-60 shifting at 6400. You could tune the holy **** RPM to come in sooner by advancing safely 2-4 degrees (Crower Timing Chain).

Butch, I was certain that with a PSC1-003 (sittin here doing Nothing) could have adjusted the AF and fixed my problems/Combo that with bad choice in spark plugs, CAI, 180 stat, and Underdrive pulley that was hard on the Alt/Battery, I decided that I wanted to go back a step when I still had driveabilty/no CELS/ decent power and the 6.1 on SC does that. If I drive normal I don't even know its there until 4K RPM so if you keep your foot out of it its good.

Kenneth, Wasn't getting any surging! Occassional Limpe Mode if you drove like a Grandma, hammer it all Day and she was good, and Fuel Mileage was not Bad 15.2 Hwy and 10 in Town. As for Stu doing a file, dunno could ask him as not sure how that custom tuning exchange works. He may even have something on file that will work out of the Box! So ya, for the Magnum, I plan on doing Cam, BBK shorties, (w/my CAI) Predator U7135 and SRT Gear Upgrade thats It.

OK so I am off to do my Shifter Today! Thanks Danny.

when cammed i wouldn't have run the iridiums...worst plug for me in the years i've tried different plugs..especially when I cammed up...

have the spartan and been running it for about 100k miles...with the right tune it runs reliably good (have over 205k miles on it now)...
