Truck went this AM to Quigley Dodge with my buddy...He sent me a text and said she wasn't happy along the way and the check engine light came on.

Not good fellas. PO700 and PO735 have been thrown. They threw on the way to the dealership. He changed out the fluid and filter, took it for a ride, came back and cleared the PCM and threw again on his way back my place. 700 is the trans control module and 735 is 4th gear incorrect ratio or something to that effect. He said he doesn't believe it is a sensor due to the fact that there are usually more codes than just for one gear. It will be going back next week to have a recall on the wheel bearings done that he says was never completed on it. At this point the trans is going to be removed and looked over...Thank bejesus for a purchased extended drivetrain warranty. They believe its going to be clutches going bad and or a problem with some valving seals I believe is what he said. He said 2-3 days in the shop and I should be good to go.

Its always good to have a buddy work at the dealership. He sounds like he is trying to do his best to get you fixed up.

Goes in tonight to have the trans work done. I'll keep you guys up to date with what's going on and what's wrong. Having an alignment done too right away so the new tires don't get ruined right off the bat...soon time for shocks too...So I'll be driving the rental for most of the week...

They gave me 2-3 days for an estimate for repairs...As long as the warranty company keeps it moving along we will be good.

Got a call today. Solenoid pack above the valvebody needed to be replaced and the 4th gear clutches were a mess. Extended warranty covered it all at a cost of $1600. I pay $200 for the deductabe and $80 for an alignment, plus tax as well. Good deal as far as I'm concerned. Now, does my tuner hurt the trans at all? I don't wanna f it up again lol

The alignment I asked for, they didn't tell me I needed it due to the trans lol...But my taillight fluid was low so they took care of that for free!!!

I've never changed or flushed the fluid in my 96 truck. It went 245K miles before it finally said it was enough. I'd heard to many stories of people having problems after doing maintenance on trans so I didn't.

So what's the good mileage for tranny fluid change/flush? I plan on changing my fluid/filter at 30-35K miles. Should I do it sooner? I don't wanna worry about having tranny problems or anything down the line, so I'd like to keep it in tip-top shape.

Id say every 35000 miles drop the tranny pan, change the filters and top it off with fluid.

Trucks back and rides like a dream...Paid $283 and the warranty co paid almost $1700. Buying that extended warranty sure did pay off. Sitting here now putting the SC into it.
