Have any of you guys had issues with the OEM Ram Mud flaps collecting Debris and rubbing the paint?

Here is a Pic of the OEM mud flaps after they were removed:
There is a big void the ram chose to fill with foam. Unfortunately, there is just enough space for Debis to collect between your paint and the foam.
Anything abrasive in this space will remove paint over time.

I chose to go with a flat mud flap that doesn't ruin my paint:

These are a no drill design and have held up well.

Just curious if anyone here has had any bad experiences with mud flaps???

I had the RAM molded flaps that I bought from the dealer and had them installed on my 2016 1500. After about a year the flaps wore through the paint on the edges. I brought the truck to the dealer and they said to call Ramcares. I called and they said so sad, can't help. I politely argued, numerous times through numerous people, that I paid for a RAM branded product to protect my RAM truck and had them installed at the RAM dealership. If they endorse, manufacture, or install a product that ruined the paint on my truck, they're responsible to fix it. After probably 4 months, they agreed to fix the paint, which I anticipated would be a touch-up paint stick, but I didn't care, I wanted it documented in case it had corrosion issues later. The dealer backed me up and said the truck was well taken care of and I've bought multiple Dodge/Ram/Jeep products from them. FCA eventually ended up paying for a body shop to repaint the front fenders and front doors because they couldn't properly blend the paint otherwise; it was a Granite Crystal Metallic truck.
On my 2019 2500 I have the flat rubber RAM flaps. I'm told that the newer versions of the molded guards are supposed to have a clear 3M type of tape that is installed under the flaps to prevent abrasion to the paint.

I have weather tech on MY 19, no issues. But I have not pulled them off to look either, LOL. They R molded and fit over the splats.

I'm not concerned about them rubbing paint because I'll never be going without mud flaps on this truck. I'm not worried about rust because the painted surface they touch (fender flares) isn't metal.
