I may have went down the rabbit hole but here goes. If you're running a catch can and constantly getting alot collected doesn't that reflect some on the job that you're oil is doing? Part of the job of you're oil is to seal and protect from heat. So what you're getting in you're catch can is blow by plus boil off. So if you're getting low wear numbers on you're analysis but slot in you're catch can you're oil is only doing part of its job. Ideally you should be getting low wear numbers plus little in you're catch can. I understand that driving conditions also effect this too . This is just my thoughts, please feel free to enlighten me any further, it's kinda dark down here.

I'm hoping some of the synthetic oil thread guys read this , because I've had similar questions on why sometimes I vent more oil through the PCV and ultimately into my OCC than other times .
With my occ intalled I've used
20wt PP
30wt RL
30/40wt mix RL
30wt PUP
30/40wt mix PUP

My wear #s are dropping nicely over time , especially with the each of the 4ea RL OCI & UOA'S .
I'm now doing the PUP uoa Program funded by the Pennzoil team.

With each type & weight of oils I've used
My occ collection of oil seems to be the same ...

For my Ram 5.7L & my wife's Challenger 5.7L it seems to increase with long highway miles 75-80 mph for 500++miles or so , my normal day to day driving (typical for me ) I get only a very small amount .
I'd say twice as much with the long highway miles , still not a tremendous amount either way.

I just ordered my catch can and Carven muffler, hopefully by next weekend I'll have them both installed.

Which carven? I have the progressive. Sounds nice, especially when you get on the gas. Also have the Bullet technologies catch can.

Nice. I think you will like both.

Do you have muffler and tips or just muffler? I've ordered just the muffler, figured if I didn't like it I'd do the tips later.

Just muffler. I think it sounds really good with the factory tips. Have had many positive responses on how it sounds now.

I think the question now is to make a Caven exhaust sound proper does a catch can need to be installed before or after the muffler?

I don't know about a discount but I think I'll have to empty mine when it gets here. I think fed ex is testing it before it gets here. It finally made it out of Texas and arrived in Greensboro which is about 30 miles from me. Then it took them 9 hours to make a 30 miles trip in the wrong direction, and then 13 hours to male a 85 mile trip to wind up about 20 miles on the other side of me. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I've got my fingers crossed.
