I know that this subject has been hashed out for ever but.. and I am not seeking to open a major thread here but with the demise of FRAM our choices are becoming quite limited.
I am a maintenance nut, I change my engine oils before 5000 miles, I use factory recommended oils with recommended viscosity ratings. We have 6 of these HEMI's currently. ( one virgin with 180K One with 150K never an engine problem)
Now to the MEAT. I have used FRAM filters on all of our cars and trucks for many years, always the upgraded ones. Last couple of years the FV2 for the HEMI's both 5.7 and 6.4. Now the Fram filters are unavailable it seems anyplace. (Bankruptcy seems to be the cause). I have checked high and low,, nun, nada, notthn no place.
I have tried looking at other brands but there doesn't seem to be anything out there that compares with capacity and quality of the actual filter material for synthetic motor oils. The MOPAR MO399 is a joke, The Mobil1 M1-113 is the same size and construction of the MOPAR filter..
NOW Has anyone out there found a quality filter with synthetic specific filtration and with sufficient capacity to take care of our beloved HEMI's ???
