Apologies in advance for this on-topic post... :happy175::happy160:

Just removed my no-name air filter and installed OEM Mopar.
Ordered a 20-820 oil filter from Summit. I have 8 quarts of PUP 5w-20 in the garage to complete an oil change when the filter arrives.
I also have 15oz of Lubeguard Biotech on hand, ready to add if necessary. If all goes well I'll run it towards the summer when I may switch to Redline 5w-30.
Thing about south central PA, we rarely see the temp extremes that others see.
Right now my 2014 Hemi with 106,000 is not ticking and never has except the exhaust manifolds, both banks resolved for now.
*fingers crossed*

Those be some expensive kids, Boird.
Da Hossie with the Black Halter was my Gelding, who died 2 years ago. (see post 2062).

DA Hossie with the Blue Halter is Momma's Gelding, she turned 25 this past September (U know the status of my wife). Since was her hossie, dat Hossie will be here till the Big Hossie Guy in the sky says come to me. Pic of Mare below covered with snow and eating was from Feb 2021, when we had the snow/ice storm and bout shut down the whole state for 4-5 days. She is a Houston Hossie, she did not appreciate -5 F as she has a shed row barn/stall, but it is situated NW/SE ref weather.

Below is more current pic of the Mare, who is a registered AQHA Momma. And yes, she likes to eat, lmao. Also a pic of the other kids. IMG_1712.JPGIMG_2317.JPG

Well, here, believe it or not, U add Feed, hay for year, bug spray, Vet, farrier visit every 6 weeks, any equipment needed, and and, it runs me $2,500 to $4,000 to have her here yearly. I dare not let her go, Momma haunt me till I be gone, lol.

ADDED: Dusk to dawn light in stall area, fan that basically runs straight for at least 10 months too. (this is on house electric bill, since my electric to garage is trunked on a leg off of House feed to secondary box).

How long do horses live on average?
The average horse lives for 25 to 30 years. However, in rare cases, domestic horses have lived into their 50s or 60s. There are many factors that affect the lifespan of a horse including: Nutrition.

I did try that in several places and it ripped the same, right at where it meets up with the end caps. It's essentially where the mesh backing ends.

How bad do you think this is? I mean I'm hoping it's just decreased filtration.....
Filter media could collapse easier from oil pressure

Still thinking about this.

If they got wet it would have had to been before they went into thier individual box otherworldly the box would be noticeably F’ed up from water too.

Hard to figure out how they would get wet in that short order.

Im now thinking it is simply storage environment. Not saying it is from the environment that YOU put them in Corey. Possibly the place you bought them from.

If we are right that it was from summit, they are in Ohio. Ohio is no stranger to Humidity and temperature swings. If they were stored in a pole barn sort of storage are that is not temp controlled then I can see condensation doing this.

I can walk into my garage on a spring morning and the concrete floor and all the metal things in my garage a sweating with condensation. A lot of it. So the raw metal on the inside if them spin on filter’s could be rusted from that sort of thing.

I store my scrap steel im my garage and some of it has rusts spots on it from condensation

Iv eaten horse sausage and salami. Never wothavd known the difference. Different country

Never understood why it is illegal to process them here in the US. That is a LOT of lean meat. Im sure the old ones would be a bit gamey tho.

I believe they they have horse slaughter houses in Canada. Most likely became illegal in the US because of how horses were revered in the 1800s when horses were used as transportation. They hung horse thieves . Now a days it’s akin to eating dog that is considered a delicacy in some parts of Asia.

Off topic but lean meet is no longer the recommend meat to eat, they're coming back from that whole "don't eat fat it will give you heart disease" thing. It's not the fats in meats/butter/seeds/advocados/olives that is bad, its the highly processed vegetable oil fats (sesame/canola/sunflower) and deep fried foods that is causing inflammation and because of that, high insulin/diabetes and high cholesterol.

Glass doesn't age. It can flow from gravity over many years, ancient windows are thicker on the bottom, but that's it.

Are they blending the glass media with cellulose?
Everything ages my bordozer.

Everything.

But I totally get what you are saying and it makes sense about the glass fibers. They “should” Last a super long time.

Edit. If I have the chance and a good enough memory ill cut open one of my filters today.

I was wrong Corey. I have 14 left from when we all bought a bunch of them.

Fair enough, most often when I see people talking about lean meat its usually mentioned as if that's a good thing, guess I interpreted your post the same way.

I'd eat horse if I had too, but it is last on the list just because of the cowboy horse partnership. I would however need some bbq sauce to choke it down.

Does anyone have any info on micron size of loose glass media? I would not hardly worry about tbh, but if you are worried you can bypass to a double filter and use one paper and one spun glass? What happened to Corey's filter was way out of whack, hard to kn ow the why that happened.
