I recently attempted a Fumoto Drain Valve kit for my drain plug. My factory plug works with no leaks BUT in an attempt to install the Fumoto, I realized it was going in cross-threaded. I pulled it out, reinstalled the factory and sure enough, it inserts at an angle. Again no leaks.

My die and tap set only goes to 12mm and I think the diameter of the hole is 14mm. Other than a machine shop, where could I find a 14mm rethread kit? I am coming up short.

Thanks!

Try Fastenal or a local nut and bolt supply

The fastener isn't the issue, fortunately. That one is easy to solve. It's the receiving hole on the drainpan that has me sweating.

Ah, of course! I always used them for nuts/bolts but never taps. I will give them a shout! Thanks for the suggestion.

Most auto parts stores should have that tap.

I found time-sert via Amazon. Gave them a shout. It's a crapshoot. I don't leak now, just want the aftermarket Fumoto. If the retapping goes South, I have bigger problems. LOL

Yeah and I am doing all of this because those Fumoto's are just awesome setups.
DO NOT want to add misery but I talked to our aftermarket truck mod friend. He knows the kit you installed well. He said his shop has done the same thing. Suggested you get both the tap and die. may need to to chase both the plug thread and pan thread.
