My 11 hemi Ram, 150k miles. First 80k, 5/20 semi synthetic. Whatever was available, usually penzoil as I had quik lube place change. 80k to 100k, RP 5w/30 and RP 20 820. 100k to current RL 5w/30, SRT filter. Lost the tick about 5k after RL switch, never came back. Made a believer out of me.

I will only run RL in a hemi

Redline is some good stuff ... I won't use anything else on my truck now ... I don't care how much it is, if I anyone wants to keep their 5.7s for a long time and not worry about engine issues related to oil why not try it ...

Ok…ok….I’m amazed and impressed with all of the Redline 5w30 users. Wow! You guys are really adamant about how good it works in your trucks.

So, I did a bit of research and found that there are two Redline options. One is approved for the MS 6395 mopar spec and the other seems not to be and is more ester based(?). Which version are you guys using? Cost wise I have no problem spending $100 for an oil change if it’ll do the job. Heck, Walmart gets over $50 for a conventional change I believe.

I have run Royal Purple in everything I own for 50 years including every Cummins Ram in my fleet. Never had any issues of any sort. I also use WIX filters exclusively.
I will admit the only Hemi I ran it in was a 69 Road Runner in the early 70's on the drag strip. Won't use anything else.

My 2019 classic Hemi oil pressure has reduced a little.

I’m using Royal Purple 5w30 with an RP filter. For 3,500 miles it ran 48 psi at 75 mpg consistently. Today on a 3 hour trip it dropped to 44 and occasionally 43 psi and stayed there for 200+ miles. I guess 5 psi is a not a big drop but I don’t understand why.

I’ve been told that Royal Purple is crap and breaks down quickly. Might this be the case??

Just in case, On the next warm day I plan to change it Kendall GT1 full synthetic as I have a case available in the garage from my wife’s old car. Also, I’m switching to a mopar 399 oil filter.

Coolant temp floated from202 to 220. Oil temp hit over 224…truck has 37,000 miles.

Should I be worried??? Ugh
Royal Purple is not an approved oil for use in you RAM. If you have engine damage your warranty is null and void. Consider changing to on oil that has the correct numbers.

"Never had any issues" is a low bar for oil. You can probably say that about any oil these days.

Redline actually improves the sound (reduces "mechanical chatter") and can help reduce/eliminate lifter tick. It also has really good anti-wear properties.

Actually, Royal Purple 5w20 and 5w30 API oils do meet chryslers MS 6395 specification. That’s what I’m using.

Royal Purple meets all manufacturing specs for any new vehicle in the RAM line. Your warranty is not effected by it's use. "FAKE NEWS!"

Royal Triton was the original "Purple Oil" in the 60's that we used and it was eventually formulated to synthetic in the late 70's.
Royal Triton evolved to become Royal Purple....Using the same Texas oil as its base. So BUD you are spreading BS!

Here you go!!!
Royal triton oil was used in the 1930’s by hot rodders and actually was purple. It was owned by Union 76, and Marilyn Monroe actually did a TV advertisement for them in 1950. Who knew????? It did evolve into todays Royal Purple when it became a synthetic in the 1980’s. Far out!!! Also, while researching this, I found out that Redline is a product of Phillips 66. Wow!!

Royal Triton has been around since the 20's.John Williams worked for them in the 70's,then left and started Royal Purple,so i dare say he wasn't Royal Triton,he was an employee of theirs. Can't say as i ever remember him buying them out.

If you'd like to use redline, contact nick@gotexhaust , he is a forum vendor and tends to have the best price around for redline. Stellar customer service as well.

Phillips 66 bought RP in 2017 and they haven't changed anything about it so just because they are under Phillips 66 doesn't meant it is a product of theirs lol ...

And Royal Triton didn't become Royal Purple, just because John Williams left RT to start his own business and called it RP doesn't mean that RT evolved into RP lol ....
