I went with the 14" magnaflow. Not loud at all until I get on it, then still not loud. My neighbors didnt even think I put on an muffler. I just bought the muffler for 100 and had a shop weld it on for another 100. Less than the mufflex and welded. Easy and quick. I went with the AFE stage II CAI. It uses the stock airbox bottom and just clips to the top. Very easy to install. I will warn you it is louder than the muffler. You may want to go with the SnB if you want it quiet. If you want more performance I would go for a tuner. Your not gonna get much out these mods w/o a tuner. Best case is the mods and a tuner. Now thats fun!!

Like the guys have said, install is very easy for each of these. The Mufflex kit is a direct Bolton kit, so you will not have to cut or weld anything. The intake is a 30 minute install, and the TB install is probably the easiest mod you will ever install. We are also available to help with install questions, so feel free to give us a call if you get hung up during the install.

They are all easy, just a warning with the throttle body. The intake manifold is plastic with with course thread lag bolts attaching the TB to it. Very easy to strip.

No one was calling anyone an idiot by no mean. I just saying from the question about the advantages or disadvantages to having a muffler and not having a muffler was a huge red flag for me. My 8 year old little brother knows that. Again still not calling anyone an idiot and we all have different skill sets. I barely know what in the world I'm doing with a computer and I would tell you I'm an computer idiot.

None of the alts originally identified are technically complicated. biggest thing is to allow extra time and then take your time while installing. Most of these items come with adequate instructions--read, read, read those.

For a novice, I would say do only one mod at a time. Do your homework on RF first as well.

For example, the recommendations above about penetrating oil or WD40 for getting the original equipmet muffler off are excellent. Same with the caution about the bolts on the TB going into the plastic manifold. Definitely search the DIY section and use the search function to find additional information buried in older threads.

Use the preferred venders, they're going to be around for a while, they know Ram trucks, and have a vested interest in helping you get the job done right. They also often have access to ask the manufacturer about issues you may encounter.

And don't get put-off by cranky posts. RF is about truck owners, gearheads and wrenches for the most part, not English majors. Just look at the grammar of many posts and you'll quickly realize its not drunk posting, just fat fingered typers who are not too QWERTY savvy.

And relax, you've got a Hemi! :big_banana_Dance:

I really do hope I didn't make you upset. If so I will serve a self imposed 5 day forum suspension and oh my god my typing, grammer, and ext is the worse. My fingers work a whole lot faster than my brain.

Caspar's right, I was very unsure of myself whe I first started modding. I had no idea what I was doing but found DIY's all over this forum along with instructions and all worked out great!

For ease of installation I would go with Veraram because it sits right on top of the engine and looks baddass :)

I wasn't offended. It stinks being the "newbie", but we've all been there. Just nervous about messing something up. First truly new vehicle and I don't to mess up warranty, etc.

This forum has been great, so far and I'm appreciative of all the feedback.

If anyone is near the Upstate of South Carolina...feel free to make a road trip with your tools.. I'll provide plenty of food and beverages!!!

Actually sounds like fun. I might be able to my wife is going to las vegas. I love wrenching. I'll have to see what's going on with the furlough days, but right now I'm off every Friday and could come up early on a Friday and go home on Sunday. Course the parts would have to be ordered too before get there, so timing may be a problem.

We could work that out PX. I'm liquidating a few "toys" to provide the $$$ for the mods. Hope to be able to put them on order in 2-3 weeks. Will likely be first or second week of September before I could install.

We all were/still or are learning to do something, my advice is have someone help you [a friend that is more mechanicly inclined than yourself], watch you tube DIY videos take your time and do it carefully and you'll be fine another poster said mechanics will overcharge you and he is correct [they'll think your a ******* and screw you] I did the same thing with a basket case charger my son bought, I did not know how to weld, fabricate metal do bodywork or paint I watched a lot of you tube DIY toutorials and went out there and tried it and low an behold I was able to do it [I ain't no expert but I can do it] this is the car when I got it and this is 2 years later ready for high build primer. There was not a part of this car I did not patch with metal. Anything is possible just takes dillagence.

Px8 offered a helping hand i would go that route if you didnt want to do it all yourself or spend more money for a shop to do these easy installs.

That's why I felt I had to try and do it myself, paint jobs alone are pricy and you never know what you'll get in the end. I have rebuilt many cars in the past and this was my second [first one I did everything by myself] complete fab, weld, massage and paint. I have in the past stripped the car to a shell and sent it out for paint. My friend and I did this truck a 69 C10, 406 small block, 400 trans., posi rear in 8 weeks after work and on weekends it was my first full on rebuild in 1990. The child in the photo is my oldest [now 24]!!!! All the sheet metal patches, the tailgate filler and both roll pans were hand formed [front one was 3 pieces, the rear was 5 separate pieces], rockers, cab corners were all hand formed as well [by two guys whom never did any automotive sheet metal].

Nice truck, my Dad has a '67 that my great grand father bought new in 1967.
