I'm thinking of using black accessories to spiff up my maroon truck.

Black tonneau cover, black tail lights, black grill guard, black bug deflector, the grey plastic trim on the bumper will turn to black and a black pin stripe is what I have planned so far.

Here is what I want opinions on: I was thinking about the best way to provide protection against the gravel roads that I drive on when I had an idea. What if I used black spray on bed liner to make about a 6 to 8 inch stripe along the bottom between the wheels and behind the back wheels.

I've seen a lot of chrome panels put on that would serve the same purpose but with everything else being black I think they would look out of place.

What do you guys think about the bed liner idea. Will it look good or totally lame?

Thanks for the pictures, Needaram. That's exactly what I'm thinking about. I could picture it in my mind but not well enough to know if it would look good or not.

It's nice to know that someone else took a gamble and it turned out well.

I'll probably end up lining my rockers.

And the mod list just keeps getting longer and longer and longer..............

Which would be better to use, the spray on or roll on?

When I bought my Ram the first owner did that and it is now pretty faded and I would like to strip it off and paint the truck the OEM Silver...but on the other hand I have no idea if the first owner used a cheap product. I know that nowadays they have better stuff out there when it comes to "lining"; as the old adage say "you get what you pay for". but if I were to redo the liner I would def shop around and compare different brands......RESEARCH!!!!

That's some nice work ramhunter.

I am planning to use black on my maroon truck. I'm also thinking about doing the fenders to give it sort of a fender flare look without the flares.

How do you think that would look? I think you may have done it to the black truck but I can't tell for sure because I am on my phone.

That looks pretty slick.

I've always like the accent that flares provide but I also am not a fan of them on a 2wd.

Bedliner will work perfectly.
