So I ordered a set of Black TYC Projectors from RockAuto.com.

Before we go any furthur, I'm not interested in HID kits. I've had nothing but trouble with them in the past in my Rams and always just sold the kits.

I'm looking for the best LED Bulb or Halogen bulb to put into my TYC Projectors.

Also, I know this might be a stupid question, but are there 2 bulbs in the projectors? 1 for low (projector) and 1 for high (reflective)? Or is it a Hi/Lo bulb like the stock H13 on the duals?

Any recommendations or help is greatly appriciated.

P.S. I've had good experiences with Opt7 products in the past. If they make an LED kit for the TYC projectors let me know, I'd like them.

The lights should come with bulbs, it won't say on the description, but it does.

I meant, what are the best bulbs to get.... best as in best lighting. It seems like finding 9012 low beam bulbs are next to impossible, forget finding any 9012 led bulbs, they don't exist, and I don't want an hid kit.

I heard 9006 fit into the 9012 socket with no modifications but I haven't been able to confirm this although a few Google links people had luck sometimes and others didnt.

Anyone on here put any 9006 bulbs in there 13'+ projector housing low beam?

What HID kits did you run that you had so many issues? Your year model truck is pretty easy to hook HIDs up to with zero issues. Sometimes a quality set up might cost you a little more but will definitely out perform any halogen you throw in there. LEDs are another good option but personal opinion is they can't compare to HIDs.

Side note...,Try the search function brother. [emoji12]You start a thread for everything your thinking about lol. Not being mean, just saying a lot of your questions have been answered several times over in previous threads started by other members. Also as previously mentioned to you, JJ at retroshop is a phone call away and can answer pretty much any lighting question you might happen upon.
Glad you're enjoying your new truck man and have fun with all the mods you have coming [emoji106]

Morimoto 2strokes come in 9012 and work very good, ive seen a couple others as well. If you want opt-7's again yes 9006 can fit with minor tab trimming. Now the highs the 2strokes and opt-7's dont fit. For highs if you want led you'll need a bulb with the wire braiding for cooling inplace of a fan.

I am a Morimoto Authorized Vendor.....and I don't even sell the 2 strokes. I got a set in, put it in a Ram light, lit it up and.....no......just couldn't do it.

LEDs.......hopefully there are some on the market soon that I can market and sell. I won't.......until I know its something that I can attach my name to. ;)

This says a lot. Buy the quality Morimoto HID set and call it a day. I have had issues with cheap ebay kits before. I can't say anything but nice things about the set he sells. Plug and play and super easy.

I vote hid's from jj too but since hes so against them i mentioned whats out there. I tried led lows and well lets just say they barely stayed in a week. I still have leds in highs and fogs just for color match and quicker on/off. In my opinion until an led is released that has rear mounted forward facing chips(maybe with its own optics on the bulb) similar to how you see them on lightbars and lights like the factory acura lights, you just wont get the focus and output out of them to make them a legit competitor against hid's.

You won't have any problems with the Morimoto kits from Retroshop.

I went through HID Hell with my 3rd Gen until JJ set me straight and I had no problems at all after that.

When I got the 2014 I just didn't fool around with anything else. I went straight to JJ and got what I needed to add HID's to my stock projector headlights. HID's are a improvement over ANY halogen bulb you can put in a projector, OEM or aftermarket.

I have a morimoto kit and an innovate (eBay) kit running together in my low's and fogs.

One's like $180 the other $40.

Zero issues with either.
