My dad's 2015 1500 with 5.7l is getting a little hot 225f, and throwing code P26AB Coolant Bypass Stuck/Open. Firstly, what exactly does this valve route coolant to/from, and secondly, is it known to fail? I am thinking about swapping it. Can we use an aftermarket one, or is the OEM highly recommended here. He was getting this issue a few months ago and they did his radiator and water pump/thermostat, but I think the shop messed this one up. Its having the same issue as before it went to the shop.
