I debadged my 2015 ram with no issues....used fishing line a a saw and it all worked well. Then, like a goofm i used paper shop towels and goo gone to get the glue residue off the doors.
Apparently the paper shop towels were too abrasive and i have horizontal scratches in the clear coat.
Anyone have a suggestion for removing the scratches?

Goto auto parts store.. Get some fine rubbing compound. Follow the instructions

In this case, "it will just buff out"

You can use a buffer, drill, or your hand with a micro fiber towel.

Yes, use 2000 grit sandpaper and wet sand it lightly....

then use some Meguires liquid compound on the area. here again, light pressure should be good...

You may need to do the compound more than once, until the scratches are gone.

Once you are satisfied with it, was like normal.

I had a couple of scratches on my black....very obvious!!! The process I used worked very well for me.

Next time, use an eraser wheel ;) those things are magical.

Tip #2: goo gone sucks. Try alcohol or a lacquer thinner.

ALWAYS use the LEAST abrasive solution FIRST. If it doesn't work you can go to a more abrasive solution. If it were me, I'd use a polish and a buffer first. If you run your fingernail over the scratch does your fingernail catch on the scratch. If not, you should be able to correct or rub out the scratch. If your nail catches, the scratch needs to be spot painted.

This is the truth to the "T" and super great advise.

But in this case, it is just from a paper towel, he'll be fine.

Basically concentrated swirl marks.

I used lighter fluid to remove the goo. Worked like a charm.

I have a black Ram and when I removed my emblems I also had scratches. I freaked a little at first. I then used a polishing compound and followed that up by waxing. TA-DA!....the scratches were gone. Like someone said above...ALWAYS use least abrasive method 1st!
