I got bored this weekend and decided to paint my stock exhaust tips black. I sanded them with 800 grit wetdry sand paper yo scuff them up. Once sanded I sprayed 4 coats of gloss black 500 degree temp. I let them sit over night and installed them this morning. I think they look good and as long as the paint holds up which it should because I used a laser temp gun and the highest temp I got was 197 at the tip and 215 at the connection point. if the paint does not hold up I will have them powder coated. Take a point a look at the pics and let me know what you think.

Looks good man. Is that a chrome bumper in the last pic? Or just some shiny ass black paint

Looks good man! That tailgate and bumper are so shiny they look chrome! What brand paint did you use? I'm thinking of doing the same.

No not chrome just some freshly washed and polished paint. I used duplicolor gloss black engine paint it turned out nice only took me about 30 to 45 minutes. I hope it last if not the manufacturing company I work for has parts shot in a gloss black every Tuesday so I will go that route.

looks awesome! i was just thinking of doing this today. I was thinking of using stove paint to get a matte look plus the paint would hold up to the heat too.
