Looks great, how'd you do it. Did you start with the smooth black cap and sand it then primer then paint? Clear coat?
It looks great. For future reference though...2000 grit is too fine if you're going to spray over it. That's for final wet sanding before buffing. You should be using about 4-600 grit between coats of primer or paint so the surface has some tooth for the paint to adhere to.

I think it looks great! Did you get a body shop to make a spray bomb of factory cherry red paint, to match?
