Hello all! I'm new to the forums. I was hoping someone out there could help me. I keep getting a parking lamp out message on my cluster. I've checked all of the lights and none are out. However, my left tail light does not light up when the truck is started/on. The Right side does, the 3rd brake light does but the left does not. So I changed the bulb with the same make/model and nothing changed. The brake light works when you hit the brakes but again when you are just looking at the tail light it is not on. The reverse light works as well. I even went as far as thinking maybe I got another bad bulb from a new package so I tried the bulb from the right tail light and no change, brake works, reverse works but no "driving light"

I have not changed out the socket yet for the brake light to see if that's the issue with the "driving light" but I wanted to see if you thought that could be the issue is the socket. Also if it's not the socket and it's the plug how can I go about fixing that?

Thanks so much in advance!

Oh and it's on a 2016 Canary Yellow Dodge Ram Hemi 5.7

Sounds like there might be a short? Is the socket clean inside?

Definitely a short! I got it fixed. The Dealership wanted $150 just to look at it and then whatever the part was plus labor and so I went on Ebay and got a new Socket from Southwest Mopar out of Missouri and put it in and got it fixed. After pulling the old one out and inspecting it, the socket looked as though it tried to catch fire. It was really black around the gray plastic near the bulb.

I have had several trucks over the last few weeks that have come in with lamps out in the rear just like yours. Now that we have had some heavy rains I have replaced multiple tail lamp sockets due to the bulb out and the socket appearing to have been burned. A few of them had poor seals because of age and they had water in the sockets and condensation inside the tail lamp housing.

Good job on getting it repaired yourself!!
