I agree. My boat has about 650lbs of tongue weight and my 2013 1500 Express squated about 1-2". Granted that is quite a bit but that is quite a bit of tongue weight. I weigh 270 and when I stood on my bumper it might have squatted maybe 3/4". It was 100% stock. But I do agree the 1500 should only be used for light duty towing or hauling

Most trucks from back in the day were regular cab. If you had a four door they would be 3/4 or 1 ton . Very different than today’s trucks

Lol shock towers probably pushed through the trunk before ever trying to move that Toy ota. But he saw the space shuttle commercial and thought I got a Toyota. But The salesman said..

I took a 2,300 pound pallet of tile 25 miles home once. 14 Ram quad cab. Loaded tight to the cab, tires & axle to frame bags aired up for it. Slow speeds early speed reduction for stops it was fine. That said really 2 hour drive be smart & get a trailer to use well and a few good ratchet straps. Amazing that people put a load like that on a trailer then don’t strap it down.

U-Haul Rental... Set it up on line and you can be in and out in like 15 to 20 minutes or less. With the weight you are looking at you'd be much better off and safer with U-Haul trailer. I have a little trailer but it only holds about a 1000 or so. If it was not free (minus the cost of refurbing it) I would not have one either. I do not have to insure it as liability follows the vehicle towing it. Interesting your state requires insurance on a trailer??? I also do not bother with registering year to year as it used only local and rarely, and police are more interested in the vehicle towing it then the trailer and I have a plate from a previous trailer I sold.

Some states have some kinda...interesting laws.

That said, I carry insurance on my trailers, but it is Comp only. Liability and collision follow from the tow vehicle. Comp is basically for theft on trailers.
