I pulled the trigger on a 16 RAM Bighorn 4x4 Crewcab with the 3.6, 8-speed, 3.21 rear end. 1st tank...505 miles, I just put in 22 gallons of gas. I really like it so far! I'm not real computer savvy, so no pics, but it's a black Crewcab Ram. So far I put in front and rear Weathertech mats and 4 window vent visors.

I recently traded in my 2014 Tradesman 1500 with Pentastar for a 2017 Quad Cab 1500 with 5.7L Hemi. The only reason for doing this was I plan to buy a much larger travel trailer. The Pentastar with 8 speed and 3.21 rear end was excellent. I never had a bit of trouble. We pulled our 4800 lb Winnebago a total of 9537 miles. Last October we crossed Monarch Crest in Colorado at 11,312'. Very good performance in the mountains. I just can't say enough good things good about that 2014. I just hope the 2017 is as good. So far it seems like it.

My 2014 Lone Star V-6 with 3.21 rear end struggled to tow our new Flagstaff 4500 lb travel trailer. Would not upshift on level roads in tow/haul mode. Traded for a 2014 Lone Star with a Hemi. What a difference!

Seeing conflicting accounts such as these always makes me wonder.

Different people have different versions of what "struggling" means when towing. Some think that if the truck is turning more than 1800 rpms on the highway, or hold at 3000 to 4000 going up hills then it is struggling. To me, as long as it feels safe on the highway, the vehicle is not overheating or just very underpowered, it's fine. Plus, towing with a v6 your going to have to turn a few more rpms to move the same weight as a hemi.
