Hey Guys,
Is it possible to swap out the all plastic front bumper my 14 RAM Express came with for a steel bumper?
I really Irks me to think if I bump something it will seriously F-up the plastic bumper.

Yeah, you can swap... quite a few people have posted about going from steel bumper to plastic on their trucks.

There are a lot of choices if you want to have a Steel front bumper. Just be careful as a lot of times you get what you pay for and most of them rust within the first year. Plus it adds a fair amount of weight over your front tires.

I'd be surprised if it didn't f-up a steel bumper also. These are not the bumpers from 1959. Your money, your choice though.

I replaced my steel bumper with this one that's rubber and steel.. if that counts for anything

Wait until its damaged then replace it.

That one is pretty sweet!!

Like said above, the OEM chrome 'steel' bumper is nothing special. I think the whole assembly is less parts than the plastic, but they're both not intended to hit anything and stay intact.

A whaled a deer with my plastic bumper last year. Cracked the hell out of the bumper, but I'm leaving it as is for now. Bumper that is. Deer ran off. LOL

I use my bumpers as “bumpers” almost daily on my 3500. They are my parking sensors and tree pushers. [emoji1787]. If you don’t slam into things they hold up well

Here is the deal; I'm going to have to downside some of my project vehicles I have around; simply don't have room to store them and I don't like thing just sitting and and rotting into the ground. The only truck I'll have left will be my RAM. I would like to add a winch; but not on EL-Plastico. Reason Is I know a lot of "helpless" people that sometimes put their car in a ditch or get stuck somehow. Guess who they always call.

After 2 front end replacements in less than a year in my sport trim (all plastic) from slamming into careless drivers, im ready to weld an entire 82 honda to my front end just to avoid replacing my headlights again.

I cant wait till i can start finding 4th gen rams in the junkyards and popping off those real deal bumpers or other high value parts just so i can drive to work the next day after totaling a 1998 ranger because he got impatient with traffic at a stop sign
