Plate Lights Out

So I installed these LEDs as plate light replacements.

They worked fine for a day then, Plate Lights Out warning on the dash. Walked around back and they were flashing every 5 seconds. 4 or 5 flashes then nothing.

Pulled out the LEDs and installed the old lamps while truck was still running and...nothing. Shut off the truck and restarted and the lamps work fine.

Any ideas what's going on?

I do have an extra pair of these LEDs but not sure I want to install them...

I'd go to AutoZone or something similar and buy some Sylvania 194... Could just be crap products.

when you get a bulb out warning, it takes a little time, or a key off/on to reset, provided the error is gone.

I'm going back to incandescent- the bulb out warning is annoying and persistent.

You may end up going through several led bulbs before you find one that your truck likes. Look for canbus bulbs, they are supposed to prevent the bulb out error.

I've had some "Can-Bus" style ones in my plate lights that I got for 10 / $10.00 on Amazon. I've had them in since December with no errors. They appear to have gone up to $12 now.

Thanks for the advice and links to bulbs that seem to work. I have 5 canbus lights coming tomorrow. Will give them a try.

Bought these and so far so good in the plate light sockets.

I use the basic 194 bulbs and never had a bulb out warning error :O From some of the issues I have read I will stay old school lol Hey I'm a old fart lol
