07 dodge ram with kenwood ddx418 double din/advent cube backup camera installed. Been running this setup for over a year now and backup cam has never experienced any problems. Few weeks ago when it was about 20 deg out i went to use the cam and the screen was going crazy flashing/flickering. Powered head unit on/off and worked fine again. Just yesterday the cam completely went out driving home from work in the snow. Screen will flicker randomly and displays "no signal". After leaving the truck sit in the garage last night, it was working normal again this morning but after 2 minutes driving down the street went out again. My troubleshooting-checked my trigger wire at head unit and rear of truck-constant 12v, tried new rca cable from cam to back of head unit-no change, un plugged all connections at rear of truck and plugged back in-no change. Connections didn't look to have moisture in them, would di-electric grease be safe for rca connections just to eliminate the chance of moisture? My wiring seems to check out fine, so starting to think maybe the camera itself is crapping out. Seems if i leave the truck sit in the garage it will slowly flicker the cam picture randomly, then overnight it kicks back on. Cam is only a year or so old and my truck sits in the garage all week (drive a company vehicle) so can't understand how the cam could already be going bad? Any ideas or suggestions???
