PLEASE HELP

Hey i have a issue that i hope i can get resolved soon, but any who lets get into it, i just recently replaced my heater core in my 2013 ram 1500 and put everything back to gather and now my truck is telling me to check my trailer break system and my traction control light is on and last but not least when i kill my truck after a trip my tail lights still stay on even after all my other lights turn off and i have already replaced the break senser thats under my dash and still having these issues PLEASE HELP

Was the Power Distribution Module (fuse box) inadvertently given a bath while filling the cooling system? Check all the connections on the BCM, it's under the dash right above the brake pedal.

I'd check to make sure you didn't inadvertently pinch a wire somewhere putting it back together

crash68 i checked my bcm and found no issues everything was plugged and no damaged parts an as for the fuse box its completly dry have got anything on it cause i drained my coolant before disconnecting the heater core

Jawzs2 i checked all the wires just now and none of them seem to be pinched or anything to the best i can see without taking the dash back off

By brake sensor ...did you mean brake switch? Sure sounds like a brake switch issue to me. I had something like your situation occur and sure enough it was the brake switch. Start by making sure the switch is mounted properly and that the wires and connector are in properly. Could something have gotten pinched or a wire tugged out of it's connector during the heater core process? Might want to try your best to look up at the wires under the dash really carefully.

If you (or someone you know) has a good scanner (one that you can see real-time events), you can push on the brake switch a bunch of times and see if it's working properly each time you engage the pedal. You could probaby take it to a parts store and have them check it too. Don't push on it 5 times. Do it like 25-40 times slowly and watch each time, because it could work great 20 times in a row and then not work for a couple. If the computer sees an intermittent it'll give the CEL.

Check the fuses too to make sure they're good.

Hey jeepwalker i will check further and see what is wrong on the pinch wire issue but on the switch i have replaced it with a bran new one from the parts store and was fine for a day or so but now is throwing code p0572 witch my reader tells me its brake switch 1 stuck on, and i dont know why it would say that when its a brand new part

Get a Mopar brake switch.
Aftermarket switches & sensors rarely work well with our finicky CANBUS systems.

Try disconnecting the brake switch & reconnect it to make sure it's seated properly. While it's off make sure the connector pins aren't damaged.

There is a calibration procedure that has to be performed when replacing the brake pedal sensor. Sometimes you can get away without plpergorming tge procedure but not always. You’ll need a scan tool to perform the procedure though.

They’re not just simple switches anymore they are an actual sensor which will give out brake pedal position in a percentage. They need to be that way in order for the integrated trailer brake controller to function properly.

ok ill check once i get back into town thinks for all the info and ill look into getting the mopar brand if these other tips dont work and once agine thinks to all those who gave me adivce on this matter all adivce gave me somewhere to look to try and fix my issues
