poor idle and truck dies problem please help

hey guys i've got a 2003 dodge ram 1500 4wd with 4.7l, it has a cai, tmr mod, and performance tune. the other day my alternator went out, and my truck died, i jumped it for a bit and drove it home before bat died again. got home pulled alt out, today the new one came and i put it in. all working good again. now while it is running the idle is fine(around like 800-1000), when you put into gear it drops to around 500. it drives just fine no problems no misfires nothing, but when you go to slow down and stop the rpms drop to around 300.. and sometimes the truck dies entirely, to which it fires right back up just fine. can't think of what would be wrong, thought maybe disconnecting the battery for the alt it reset the computer or something so i retuned the computer, no change. doing the same thing. i have made no other changes to the truck. any ideas? i can not think of what to check. please help thanks!!

I have an 08 with very similar symptoms, mine doesn't always do it when stopping, sometimes it happens when at idle for a few seconds, and when mine does it the battery gauge drops to like 1/4 then jumps back up when the idle comes back. I am also lost on where to even start...

I would start by checking the IAC valve. Its common that they get dirty and cause the engine to stall and not idle properly.
