popping noise when playing ipod?

Does anyone experience popping sound from speakers when using an ipod from the usb source? i've tried multiple cables thinking it was a bad cable. kind of sounds like popping/static noise like old vinyl records use to make. doesn't pop with headphones or in other vehicles so im leaning towards the uconnect and/or usb port. i have '15 sport with "upgraded" alpine audio package.

Have you tried the ipod in other systems? might be something bad on the ipod, I have gotten that on other stereos before and it turned out to be the unit itself.

Try cleaning the cable ports on both the truck and the iPod.

I get static when I try to play from my phone using cable and AuX port.
