I was like you, wanted to clean up the rear end. By the time I spent all my money on paint and supplies and several hours of labor I just sent it over to the powder coater. $175 and better than any job I could of done.

Did they do it attached to the truck or did you disassemble and take it in? If you just drove it in, I totally should have done that lol.

If he drove it in, I think I just changed my approach.

If he drove it in, I feel ******* stupid lol. Maybe I'll talk to the guy when I go and get my hellwig sprayed and see what he says.

Heck no you have to remove the rearend to have it powdercoated and baked in an oven. Lol. I wish they could powdercoat pieces on the truck!!! Haha. Looking good man, that poro-15 is some tough stuff.

I got the hellwig today after my Dyno run. I held it up to the rear axel and the black axel really made the gray in the bar pop and made it look more gray so I ran it to the powder coater. He said he'll get to it Monday or Tuesday.

No no, I removed the rear end and took it in to him. I also removed the axles to keep any blasting media out of the axle housing then replaced the axle seals when I re-assembled.

I'm starting to get pissed. The ******* powder coater isn't answering the phone. He said he would have it done Monday or Tuesday and would call. It's a 45 minute trip one way just to show up, plus I'd have to leave work early...

What a cluster ****. Friday, I took my fiance's car from work, drove 45 minutes to drop it off at the detailer to get ceramic coated and pick mine back up from it's yearly maintenance on the ceramic coating, drove back to work and picked her up, then drove an hour to the powder coater. Showed up a half hour before closing and he was outside. I was getting my sway bar regardless of whether it was done or not. I told him I needed it back and he said it was in the strip tank... I told him it was an hour trip for me to just come down and fought the urge to rip him a new one since he still had my product and I was SOL with it being in the strip tank. I bit my tounge and he then proceeded to say, " yeah, your wife left me a voicemail Tuesday asking about it". I had her call since my phone was messing up and I was leaving work debating on travelling down there and rolling the dice to see if it was finished before they closed. I called him 50 times that weekw no answer and no call back to the voicemail that he obviousky got. I've never wanted to slap someone so bad. He then told me he would have it ready Saturday by noon. So I said ok and left. No chance I was going to waste my Saturday afternoon with his ********. He left me a voicemail Monday and said it was ready, no charge. So I left work early today to pick it up and the craftsmanship looks pretty ****** to me. The sway bar is the worst and has pitting type divots all over it. Luckily it's a sway bar under the truck or I'd be extremely pissed. It's a shame... The local paint guys that I got the por-15 from recommended him. Definitely won't be going back. Sorry to hear that. You've been working on this idea for a month now. Did that sway bar come dimpled when you bought it?

It is slightly dimpled from from factory, but it's consistent, almost golf ball style. The powder coating dimples I've got aren't consistent and it's in a lot of areas along with a ton of smooth areas, likely air bubbles

@Jwithing you are so right to be pissed. But as you say, it will be underneath so not a total loss. Now that you have the Hellwig back, get yer ass back under there and take some progress pics!!
