I like what trono67j wrote, "I think next time I change the oil and filter I'm gonna buy a sheet of sheet metal, bend the sides up and let the oil from the filter hit the "ramp" of sheet metal and flow into my oil catch".

Reminds me of the 2008 Ram 1500 with the smaller motor. Attached to the motor was a funnel to catch the oil and guide it to the bucket.
My 02 4x4 with the 4.7 had that

I put a short 5 gallon bucket under drain plug and drain pan , reach up unscrew filter and lower rite side up . I really don't see the problems everyone describes, My 2012 Cummins 2500 is as easy as anything else , even cleaner than one of my 2500s with the factory drain gutter , çan't remember if it's the 5.7 or the 318 . Do I have the only one ?

Saw many videos about the difficulty of getting the oil filter off without having oil go everywhere. Ziplock gallon back trick seemed a PITA as well. Wondering if using something like this or something larger with bigger mouth would work.

Everybody has great ideas no matter the issue what I do is put a couple blue machanic towels around the bottom of the oil filter never had any oil spots.

Before I remote mounted my filter I'd bend a flexible funnel up in place with blue shop towel under it, crack the filter to let the oil in the engine drain, punch or tip the filter to let it drain, then remove it

Pacbrake remote filter relocation kit… flawless and effective. Not a single digit difference in oil pressure.

its the 1500 model with electric steering that is tight with the filter. Hydraulic pressure steering has lots of room to work .
I have a friend who has a 2012 Laramie longhorn and he said changing the oil on it is a breeze!

Count yourself lucky,as the majority of guys who've done the pacbrake kit do report an oil pressure drop. I'm not a huge fan of their low flow 90's and for the price of the kit,it should also have all the holes tapered,as sharp corners and oil flow don't go hand in hand
